Keeping track of your employees, their Paid Time Off (PTO) and Vacation Time can be a challenging and time consuming task. The Enhanced Microsoft Access Employee Vacation Tracking Database is a full featured vacation tracking system built all in Microsoft Access tables, forms, reports and VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) code. Based upon some of the concepts of the Microsoft Outlook Calendar interface, this database template has the advantage of being fully 100% Microsoft Access based - allowing for tight integration into your existing Microsoft Access database. The Employee Vacation Tracking database offers a Day, Week, Bi-Weekly & Month view of scheduled time off as well as a form for setting up and maintaining time off/vacations. Pre-Built day, week, bi-weekly and month reports are also included with the Employee Vacation Tracking database.

This version contains all the features in our Standard Calendar Database/Template but adds the ability for you to assign a time off entry to a specific employee and assign that employee to a department. You can then filter the calendar you are viewing by that Employee or Department to get just a view of that Employees or Departments scheduled time off entries. The calendar also includes the ability to import and/or export your data to and from Outlook.

If you do not care for the way the fields are labeled in this database anyone with the necessary Microsoft Access programming knowledge can modify the way data fields are labeled. For example your business may refer to an employee number as a “Code” another company may call it a “Badge ID”. The advantage to purchasing this form of software over a traditional commercial software program is that you may modify the way the program works as you like. There are many skilled Access programmers available, if you are not personally skilled in Access. If you cannot find a skilled Access programmer to work with just contact WSI and we will be pleased to provide you with a quotation on making any modification you desire to this database template.

New features and changes in the Enhanced version!
1. Ability to sort on Badged ID (labeled “Code” in standard version)
2. This version does not have a location feature, to filter employees by their work location, but that can easily be put back into the database
3. A position data field was added to the information already stored on each employee
4. Re-designed the menu screen to make it look nicer and more modern

5. New Employee Information form allowing for more detailed information about employees that syncs with summary information.

6. Meetings with employees. This screen allows you to track and record information about meetings you have with your employees regarding their time off.

7. This database will Email the information you enter about your meeting with the employee to the employee as proof of meeting.

8. This new screen allows you to assign a replacement for employee when the employee is not in schedule or has taken time off.

9. The new version of this database shows employee time off and their replacement on calendar view. It will display several entries as a list.

10. In search mode this database will show the replacement employee and when exporting to Microsoft Excel it will export all records associated with the employee time off event and the employee.

If you do not need some of these features and feel they will be “in the way” they can be removed.

You will have full access to the database window, all design objects, the visual basic project code and you will be able to modify or add to the design in any way that you wish (does not apply to the run time/compiled version).
